BETAH awarded contract vehicle with National Institutes of Health.

NIH Awards Blanket Purchase Agreement To BETAH Associates, Inc.

Small, minority- and woman-owned firm to provide conference management, graphic design and Web-based marketing services to NIH

BETHESDA, MD, DECEMBER 8, 2010 -- BETAH Associates, Inc. (BETAH), a professional services firm located in Bethesda, MD, has been awarded a 1-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for conference management, graphic design and Web-based marketing services. The announcement was made today by Michelle Taylor, BETAH's president and CEO.

A BPA is a flexible and streamlined contract vehicle that offers NIH offices a simplified method for acquiring the company's communications and management services. NIH's BPA program provides easy access to qualified pre-screened vendors, like BETAH, who are used frequently by NIH scientists, researchers and administrators. "We are honored by NIH's confidence in our capabilities, and look forward to expanding our presence within the Institutes," said Taylor.

BETAH has a 20-year history providing a wide range of services to NIH including grant review coordination, scientific meeting support and conference management, summary writing, database development, communications and outreach, materials development and library and information services. The firm's NIH clients have included the National Institute on Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Library of Medicine and the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, among others.

BETAH has also successfully supported the Administration on Aging, the Administration for Children and Families, the Office of HIV/AIDS Policy, the Office of Population Affairs, the Health Resources and Services Administration, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Other Federal agency clients have included offices within the Departments of Housing and Urban Development, Labor, Education, Defense and Veterans Affairs. BETAH also administers the African American Health Program of Montgomery County, MD, and the Minority Infant Mortality Reduction Pilot Project funded by the State of Maryland.
