BETAH provided logistical and other support services for the NIH National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) Division of Treatment and Recovery Research's (DTRR) research track at the 170th annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), which took place in May 2017 in San Diego, CA.
The meeting theme, selected by APA President Dr. Maria A. Oquendo, was “Prevention Through Partnerships.” It offered attendees a tremendous range of educational opportunities in psychiatry and related fields. The NIAAA-supported sessions included lectures, symposia, workshops, and forums related to the research track theme Treatment of Alcohol Use and Co-Occurring Psychiatric Disorders Across the Life Span. In addition to providing updates on research, a number of sessions focused on the development of clinical knowledge and skills.
BETAH's support included travel and lodging arrangements for workshop presenters; development and distribution of program brochures, posters, and flyers; on-site logistics support for the five-day conference; social media promotions; and expense reimbursements.
